What was promoted as the fight of the century, with Katie Couric in one corner (or on one morning talk show) and Sarah Palin in/on the other, ended in a decided draw Tuesday.

Neither took shots at the other, with Couric subbing as a guest host on "Good Morning America" and Palin filling in on "Today," Couric's former employer.

Couric and Palin have a history, of course, going back to a 2008 interview in which Palin couldn't name any newspapers she had read.

But the only reference to that earlier encounter took place when Palin was first glimpsed Tuesday on the "Today" show couch with her face buried in newspapers.

Over on "GMA," Couric was having fun in a video of her taking a tour outside ABC's Times Square Studio, where, at Madame Tussauds, she approached a wax statue of her former "Today" sidekick Al Roker and inquired, "How's the weather in your neck of the woods?"

On "Today," Palin participated in a party-planning segment with actress-reality star Tori Spelling and in a conversation with experts on raising teenage girls.

She joined in the "Today's Professionals" panel with Dr. Nancy Snyderman, Star Jones and Donny Deutsch.

Addressing the question whether Ashton Kutcher has the acting chops to portray Apple mastermind Steve Jobs in an upcoming biopic, Palin said, "Do any of you here ha! ve exper ience with people being paid a lot of money to pretend like they're you?"

to play Jobs on big screen

Speaking of Ashton Kutcher and Steve Jobs -- and we were -- Steve Wozniak is officially endorsing the former "That '70s Show" star to play the Apple co-founder in a movie, telling TMZ, "I'm glad that he's onboard."

"The fear that many might have is that Ashton was selected because he's 'hot' right now," Wozniak says. "But I feel that his selection was done in the most professional manner. And I'm glad that he's onboard. I think he'll put a lot into it and that he cares about this particular subject."

Filming is scheduled to begin next month.

Relationship gets serious
for Kelly and Valderrama

Speaking of "That '70s Show" and we were former star Wilmer Valderrama's relationship with Minka Kelly appears to be intensifying.

After an evening of partying at a new nightclub in Sydney, Australia, they were spotted taking a cozy walk along the water on Tuesday with Valderrama's arm draped around Kelly, the former on-again, off-again girlfriend of Derek Jeter of the New York Yankees.

Valderrama and Kelly were first linked last month, when they were "all over each other" in a private booth at L.A.'s Greystone Manor, a source told People magazine.
