Sarah Palin throws support to Sarah Steelman

Sarah Palin appears at Sarah Steelman event

CLEVELAND, Mo. -

Former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin came to Missouri Friday to give her endorsement to Senate candidate Sarah Steelman.

Palin and Steelman appeared together at a campaign rally in Cass County, an event Steelman hopes will give her momentum heading into Tuesday's primary against Rep. Todd Akin and St. Louis businessman John Brunner.

In addition to sharing time on the speaking stage, Palin and Steelman also served barbecue to supporters at the Berry Patch Farm.

Palin described Steelman as an "impeccable reformer."

"She's not just talking the talk, she's been walking the walk all these years," Palin said.

She said Steelman's rivals lack the same credentials.

"They may run on that platform, but there they are with the expensive ads and impressive rhetoric and fancy-schmancy websites," Palin said.

Steelman supporter Cindy Davis said she was glad to see Palin at the event.

"Palin is just like me," Davis said. "We need change in Washington now."

"I'm going to kick those doors in and when we get to Washington, I'm going to rattle some cages," Steelman said.
