Sarah Palin surprises guests at Iowa party

HUBBARD, Iowa -

Sarah and Todd Palin gave Iowans quite the surprise this weekend when they showed up at a party in Hubbard.

The Palins were invited by Bruce Rastetter. He's president of the Iowa Board of Regents.

Hundreds of people who showed up to Rastetter's summer party in Hardin County were shocked to see the former vice presidential candidate there.

Sarah Palin spent more than three hours talking with people, posing for pictures and shaking hands.

Palin did not give a speech. She just wanted to attend the party like a regular person.
