Sarah Palin endorses Condoleezza Rice as Romney's running mate
Former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin endorsed former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice as a running mate for current Republican Presidential candidate Mitt Romney.
I think that Condoleezza Rice would be a wonderful vice president, and she certainly has much more experience than our sitting president does today, Palin said during an interview Thursday on the Fox News show The Drudge Report.
She is even willing to overlook the fact that her views on abortion (which she is against) are different from those of Rice.
I would certainly prefer a presidential and vice presidential candidate who had that respect for all innocent, precious, purposeful human life, and showed that respect by being a pro-life candidate. We need to remember, though, that its not the vice president that would legislate abortion, that would be Congress role, and we will keep that in mind, Palin said.
She also discussed issues such as Romneys recent speech to the NAACP, which she deemed a success, even though the crowd booed him for his pledge to repeal Obamacare.
Rice has also been touted as a possible running mate by commentators Matt Drudge and Rush Limbaugh.
Palin herself was a former Vice-Presidential candidate in the 2008 Presidential election.
Rice, who has previously said that she has not interest in elective politics, served as Secretary of State during all eight years of George W. Bushs presidency.
