After walking in the shoes of Sarah Palin for her latest role, Julianne Moore admitted she has some sympathy for the former Alaskan governor and one-time running mate of John McCain.

Moore portrays Palin in the Danny Strong HBO movie Game Change. Co-starring Ed Harris as Senator John McCain, the movie charts Sarah Palins rise to stardom during the 2008 presidential race. The drama is set to air on March 10.

I do think the situation that she was put in was a completely untenable one, Moore told the New York Post.

To master Palins accent, Moore listened to her best selling book Going Rogue on tape.

According to Moore, Palin went from having a comfortable open relationship with the media in Alaska to being mishandled by McCains entourage.

She was suddenly almost in lockdown, where [she] wasnt allowed to speak to anybody unless it went through the proper channels. They were telling her what to do and how to dress. And how to behave, Moore said.

So they take a candidate for what she is and what s! he repre sents, and they want to make her into something else.

People did see that she was not as prepared as they would have liked her to be. And they saw it in the various interviews that we all saw, the actress said.

Paying tribute to the mother of five, Moore described her as very canny.

Shes extremely hardworking and ambitious, and would not have reached the place that she reached without ability. You dont get to be a vice-presidential candidate by accident.
