Sarah Palin turns back the clock, as she rocks Eighties hair and frosted pink lipstick

Sarah Palin appeared on Fox News last night, rocking a somewhat Eighties look.

The 48-year-old, mother-of-four, sported bouffant hair, frosted pink lipstick and eye-catching gold jewellery as she was interviewed about the U.S. presidential election.

Mrs Palin's appearance has come under the spotlight recently, as she revealed a considerably slimmer physique in Los Angeles last month.

She said that her new look is down to motivational fitness book, which she has been working on with her family.

The former Alaskan governor told People magazine: 'Our family is writing a book on fitness and self-discipline focusing on where we get our energy and balance as we still eat our beloved homemade comfort foods!'

The tabloid noted that it is unclear if she has a book contract or publishing date.

It isn't Palin's first foray into the health and fitness space, and she has been a dedicated runner for most of! her life.

She once fronted an issue of Runner's World magazine and she finished the 2008 Anchorage marathon in 3:59.

However it has been her hair, not her figure, which has attracted the most media attention over the years.

Last year it was announced that her high-volume do was the inspiration for a TV reality show, airing on TLC, titled Big Hair Alaska.

And Oprah once exclaimed 'what's happened to your hair?' when the political commentator appeared in a video interview with uncharacteristic curls.
