(NBC - CHRIS HASTON/NBC) Sarah Palin husband Todd is among those competing in NBCs new reality series Stars Earns Stripes, the network has revealed Tuesday.

This is not entirely surprising, given that SES exec producer Mark Burnett also exec produced Sarah Palins TLC reality series Sarah Palins Alaska and, late last year, word around Hollywood was that Sarah Palin and Burnett were now pitching a reality series about Todds career as a championship snowmobile racer. Apparently there were no takers.

Maybe more surprising, General Wesley Clark, the former Supreme Allied Commander Europe for NATO and 2004 presidential candidate, is going to go-host the show with Entertainment Tonight and Dancing with the Stars alum Samantha Harris.

Well give you a moment to mull that pairing.

The generals legendary record in the U.S. armed forces commands respect as he brings so much practical knowledge that will infuse the show with priceless insight, NBC alternative and late night programming president Paul Telegdy said in Mondays announcement.

Palin, meanwhile, is part of a lineup of celebrities, many of whom are serial reality series participants: boxing royalty Laila Ali, actor Dean Cain, former NFL player Terry Crews, singer Nick Lachey Olympic g! old meda list Picabo Street, NBCs The Biggest Loser trainer Dolvett Quince, and WWE star Eve Torres.

Each week on Stars Earn Stripes, the celebrity competitors, teamed with members of the military or law enforcement, will attempt to complete missions inspired by actual military exercises. The winnings will be donated to first-responder and veterans groups. Palin, for example, is playing for Armed Services YMCA Alaska, NBC said.

This new series pays tribute to members of our dedicated armed forces and civil law enforcement and I know that the winnings, which will be donated to first-responder charity and veterans groups, will make a difference and send an important message, Clark said in a statement about the show, which Burnett is exec producing with Dick Wolf; and which debuts in August.
