Palin to Santorum: 'Don't retreat'

Sarah Palin applauded Rick Santorum Monday night for accusing a New York Times reporter of bull over the weekend, saying she was glad to hear about the presidential candidates outburst and adding, Welcome to my world, Rick, and good on ya.

It was good, and it was strong, and it was about time because hes saying enough is enough of the liberal media twisting the conservative words, putting words in his mouth, taking things out of context and even just making things up, Palin told Greta Van Susteren of Fox News. So when I heard Rick Santorums response, I was like well, welcome to my world, Rick, and good on ya. Dont retreat.

Palin explained that Santorum has simply been trying to explain to voters that Mitt Romney will have his hands full trying to fight President Barack Obamas health care reform law in a general election match-up because the former Massachusetts governor has been dubbed the father of Obamacare.

At a campaign stop in Wisconsin Saturday, Santorum lost his cool at Times reporter Jeff Zeleny when he was pressed about his earlier comment that Romney was the worst Republican in the country to put up against Barack Obama. Quit distorting my words, an angry Santorum told Zeleny. Its bull.

Calling Zeleny that liberal leftist in the tank for Obama press character, Palin also said Monday that the incident revealed some of Rick Santorums character.

I was glad that he called out this reporter, she said. He and the other candidates, all of them, they need to do more of this because believe me, the American people are tired of what that leftist media continues to do to conservatives.

Asked if she believed Santorum could still have a shot at being the Republican Partys presidential nominee, the former vice presidential candidate said, I do, because I believe anything is possible.

S antorum defended swearing at the Times reporter on Monday, joking during a TV interview, If you havent cursed out a New York Times reporter during the course of a campaign, youre not really a real Republican.
