Tim Tebow: Sarah Palin's Support for Broncos QB Rings Hollow

The Denver Broncos might have had a bad day against the New England Patriots in Week 15, but at least their quarterback can rest easy knowing that he has a new fan in the form of failed Republican Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin.

Speaking with Shannon Bream on Fox News(via SportsGrid.com), Palin was asked about her thoughts about Tebow and the person that he is.

"I am so pro-Tebow," Palin said on the show. "You know, he is unashamed of his savior, Jesus of Nazareth. He knows that Jesus is gonna rock your world when you give it all over to Him, and he's bold about it, and he knows that the Son of God should be honored and praised. Tebow does that. I respect it."

Palin reminds me of that person in high school who lingers around the cool kids and tries to do everything in her power to fit in with them, but they don't even realize that she's there until she trips and falls over something.

Maybe I have just become so cynical over the years, or maybe I have seen too many "celebrities" that crave the spotlight, but I can't help but agree with what Glen Davis wrote about Palin's statement in his article about the video.

Theres a reason Palin was so enthusiastic there. For her, a Tebow reference is pretty much putting the ball on the tee and letting her whale away at it. Does she genuinely admire Tebow for his open expressions of faith? She may well. But shealsoknows that there arent many easier ways to pander to her base of s! upporter s than to say that Tebow knows that Jesus is gonna rock your world when you give it all over to Him.

I am surprised that Palin just stopped at offering praise to Tebow. She could have started Tebowing, which is what Patriots linebacker Brandon Spikes did after the game and even posted the picture on Twitter.

Now that it is out there that she is such a big Tebow fan, I am sure that we can expect some sort of news article about her and members of her family taking part in the craze that has swept the nation.
