Sarah Palin to write a book on Christmas

HarperCollins has said that the book will advocate "reserving Jesus Christ in Christmas, whether in public displays, school concerts (or) pageants".

The book will contain Mrs Palin's "personal memories and traditions from her own Christmases and illustrate the reasons why the celebration of Jesus Christ's nativity is the centrepiece of her faith".

The deal was negotiated by Mrs Palin's attorney Robert Barnett, who also secured deals for her previous two books. The financial details of the deal were not disclosed.

The book is the third of Mrs Palin's to be published by HarperCollins, after "Going Rogue" and "America by Heart".

"Going Rogue", Mrs Palin's political and personal memoir, became a Times bestseller within a week of release. Although criticised for prioritising her personal life at the expense of policy, the book exceeded sales estimates, selling over a million copies in just two weeks.

"America by Heart", a collection of Mrs Palin's favourite speeches, sermons and writings, reached number two in the bestseller list a fortnight after its release in November 2010.
