Sarah Palin, trashing Game Change to stay in the game

Sarah Palin has been mocked, among other things, for being too dumb to know that the more her former aides trash Game Change , a made-for-TV movie about the 2008 presidential campaign, the more viewers the movie is likely to draw. But Palin is no slouch at PR. Last week, her aides spoke out angrily, calling Game Change sick . What a brilliant move. The more they protest, the more attention Palin gets. Beautiful, smart Julianne Moore, whos been called one of the best actresses of her generation, plays the former governor of Alaska in the movie, based on the book of the same name, and Palins got to hate that, right? On Monday, the 08 Republican nominee John McCain said he wouldnt be watching. Palin hasnt said whether she will watch Moore, a pro-choice activist who has said that she is tired of partisan politics . She certainly didnt ignore Tina Fey, the Hollywood comedian, writer and actress who parodied Palin in 2008 on Saturday Night Live. Palin couldnt resist an invitation to appear ...

War Is Corroding the Souls of Some Sarah Palin Fans

Image
On her Facebook page, an alarming number are openly calling for atrocities, mass murder, even the nuclear annihilation of a whole region. As Sarah Palin Facebook missives go, her latest isn't particularly provocative or even objectionable: " Obama apologizes for the inadvertent Koran burning this week," she wrote . "Now the U.S. trained and protected Afghan Army can apologize for killing two of our soldiers yesterday. " What's noteworthy is the response to the post. Almost 20,000 people have "liked" it. They've left 2,238 comments. It wouldn't be fair to credit or blame former governor Palin for their content, or to take them as representative of what conservatives think about the War in Afghanistan. But the comments shed light on how one faction in the conservative movement, fervent Palin fans, are reacting to the ongoing presence of American troops in a Muslim country. Some are completely unobjectionable. But explicit xenophobia is alarm...

John McCain-Sarah Palin 'Game Change' movie at center of dispute

Image
The writer of a television movie about the 2008 McCain-Palin U.S. presidential campaign says he never agreed to give campaign staffers access to the script. ADVERTISEMENT Danny Strong, the writer and co-executive producer of the upcoming HBO film "Game Change," denied he misled former McCain-Palin staffers. McCain-Palin adviser Jason Recher said last week Strong promised access to "Game Change" ahead of its March 10 debut, a claim Strong denies. "I am adamant -- adamant -- that I never promised to show him the script because I never promised anyone I'd show them the script," Strong told The Hollywood Reporter. Former campaign staffers have complained that "Game Change," based on the book of the same name by John Heilemann and Mark Halperin, characterizes Palin as uninformed about global affairs. Recher said he tried to convince Strong the book was rife with inaccuracies. He also said he would not attend the premier of the film. Strong said he...

New film about Sarah Palin 'abusive'

Sarah Palin Jerry Markland- Getty Images AFTER years of stonewalling what they regard as the liberal elite media, Sarah Palin's closest associates have decided to use America's mainstream press to mount a pre-emptive strike against a new film chronicling the former vice-presidential candidate's rise to political stardom. Seven of the ex-Alaska governor's former staffers made headlines on Thursday by holding a 50-minute conference call with journalists in which they angrily aired criticisms of the television movie Game Change, in which Ms Palin is portrayed by Julianne Moore. The high-profile project, for the cable channel HBO, was described as a "sick," "abusive," and "fabricated" representation of the 2008 election campaign. It wrongly portrays Ms Palin as abrasive and emotionally combustible, they claimed, and distorts her grasp of foreign affairs. Not one of the seven participants in the phone call has seen Game Change, which will not ai...
