Palin attends memorial for slain former Navy SEAL

ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) - Former Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin is attending the memorial service at Cowboys Stadium for the slain former Navy SEAL Chris Kyle.

She is among thousands of people attending the service for the 38-year-old Kyle, who authorities say was fatally shot at a North Texas shooting range Feb. 2 by a former Marine he was trying to help.

Palin says in a Facebook post that she's attending the service with her husband Todd Palin.

"God bless this great warrior," she says in her post. She expresses disappointment not to see U.S. flags flying at half-staff for Kyle.

Palin says she also will be attending Kyle's funeral Tuesday. He will be buried at the Texas State Cemetery in Austin after a 200-mile procession starting in the Dallas area.
